INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED IN SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI, JAMNAGAR
Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrated 72nd Independence Day in its school campus with great zeal and military fervor.
Col Balasaheb Kashid, Gp Cdr, NCC Gp HQ, Jamnagar was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He laid wreath on the Shourya Stambh, the war memorial of martyrs. Indian Tricolor was hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by National Anthem and magnificent display of March Past by the cadets. Cadet Ranveer Nandan and Cadet Urvesh delivered speeches in English and Hindi respectively. Later Cadets of school and tiny tots of Balniketan, Primary school also presented patriotic songs. At the end, the academic staff sung a patriotic song to give the occasion an apt tribute.
Inter House Drill competition was also organized on this day. It was judged based on different aspects like bearing, turnout, word of command, marching style, saluting and overall coordination. The winner of the Drill Competition was Sardar Patel House which impressed the judges and enthralled the audience with their marching coordination and immaculate turnout.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest delivered a speech emphasizing on the importance of freedom and motivated the school cadets to join National Defence Academy. He congratulated the winner House of Inter House Drill Competition and the cadets for the wonderful display of march-past and School Band which projected their discipline.
The Chief Guest also released the Annual School Magazine – ‘Sandeshak 2017-18’ on this occasion.
In addition to the cadets, Staff and their families, Old Boys of Sainik Schools Association also witnessed the function.
