61st ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION IN SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI, JAMNAGAR

Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrated its 61st Annual Day in School Auditorium on 17 Nov 2022. Rear Admiral Dhiren Vig, VSM, Senior Directing Staff (Navy) National Defence College, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, an alumnus of Sainik School Balachadi was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
He was accompanied with the Guest of Honour Air Vice Marshal BV Upadhyay, VM, an alumnus of Sainik School Balachadi.
Annual Day cultural programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest. Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal Sainik School Balachadi presented the School’s Annual Report highlighting the prominent achievements and the mission of the school to provide quality education for entry in the Defence Forces as officers. Principal also stated that the School administration is constantly striving hard to improve the standards by introducing innovations in the existing system like providing better infrastructure, adopting new teaching methodologies and updating the existing facilities.
The presentation of annual report was followed by a mesmerizing variety programme performed by Balachadians. Cadets stole the heart of audience with their exeptional performance in the form of Bharat Natyam performed by girl Cadet Jiya Doshi of class VI, Skit on the life of a Cadet in Sainik School Balachadi, English Play, Garba and Patriotic Dance. This assured parents that their wards can excel in every walk of life with their talents and acquired skills.
The Chief Guest gave away the prizes, trophies and certificates to the Cadets excelled in various Academic and Co-curricular activities for the year 2021-22. The most coveted ‘Cock House Trophy’ for the all round performer House was bagged by Tagore House and Best all round Holding House was bagged by Nehru House. ‘Capt Nilesh Soni Trophy’ for the best NDA Cadet was awarded to Cadet Sourya Ray of Tagore House, he was also honored with a cash award of rupees twenty five thousand by OBSSA foundation Ahmedabad for his achievement.               
Cadet Amrit Raj of Garuda House and Cadet Aameen Kanpariya of Angre House were adjudged as the ‘Best All Round Cadet’ of the year in Senior and Junior category respectively. Cadet Amit Kumar Gujjar of Sardar Patel House and Cadet Neel Patel of Pratap House were adjudged as ‘Best Athlete of the Year’ and ‘Best in Art’ respectively. The first time introduced trophy for the Best Debater in ‘Hindi’ and ‘English’ were given to Cadet Shreyansh Pandey of Garuda House and Cadet Dev Singh Parmar of Pratap House respectively. On this occasion, Digital version of the School Magazine ‘Sandeshak 2021-22’ based on the theme ‘Adaptabilty’ was released.
The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts put in by the Cadets and Staff for the grand show and also congratulated all those who won the prizes. He also emphasized the need to imbibe qualities required to develop holistic personality in Cadets and motivated them to be sincere, truthful, disciplined and dedicated to join Armed Forces.The Chief Guest in his address shared his student’s life experience spent in Sainik School Balachadi. He advised Cadets to utilize the facilities and infrastructure available in School for getting their dreams come true and to be well versed with the technology as per demand in Defence Services. On this occasion, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour presented the token of remembrance to the School. The Principal on behalf of the school presented a memento to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour as a token of remembrance. OBSSA President Mr Bharat Patel presented a cheque to School as a scholarship for economically weaker students.
OBSSA members, Parents and families were present on this occasion. They were highly impressed by the performance of their wards. The Programme culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Lt Col Harjot Kaur, Vice Principal of the School.
