Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav im1 2 SSB Guidance


Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrated 75th Independence Day in its school campus. Air Commodore Surendra Singh Tyagi, VM (Veteran), the Chief Guest on this occasion, laid wreath on the Shourya Stambh, the war memorial of martyrs and hoisted Tricolor.

The event in the line of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ started with the welcome address given by Principal, Gp Capt Ravinder Singh where he informed gathering that the Chief Guest also holds the record of maximum hours of flying MIG-21. Cadet Krish Ninama and Cadet Vatsal Gambhava delivered speeches in Hindi and English respectively while Cadet Devansh Yadav and Cadet Sukaksh Bajpayee presented a skit on the importance of career in Armed Forces.

            On this occasion, a Virtual Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2021-22 was held gracefully through online mode. Cadets were nominated for various School Appointments and House Captains on the basis of holistic qualities which include punctuality, discipline, moral values, academics, Games & sports, positive attitude, leadership qualities so on and so forth, so that they can be role models to their fellow schoolmates. The cadets who were appointed will look after the various curricular and co-curricular activities in the houses and will support the administration for the smooth functioning of the school.

The Chief Guest during his address wished everyone a very Happy 75th Independence Day and congratulated the newly appointed Cadets. He told about the importance of Armed Forces in the Independence of India. He said Armed Forces give us a feeling of self-pride, sense of live and happiness which we can inculcate in others. He advised everyone to make this nation best in the world.

To give the occasion an apt tribute, the Chief Guest unveiled the ‘Soil of Sacrifice’ - the sacred soil of Chandan Post (Kargil), where Martyr Capt Nilesh Soni, an alumnus of Sainik School Balachadi attained martyrdom on 12 Feb 1987 during the Operation Meghdoot at the Siachen Glaciers, the highest battlefield on earth.

            Other cadets and their family members also witnessed the function from their home town through online mode while officers and staff witnessed the function in school by maintaining proper social distance. All proceedings of the event were broadcasted through Youtube.

            At last, the vote of thanks was presented by Lt Cdr Manu Arora, Vice Principal, Sainik School Balachadi and the function culminated with the presentation of school song.
