Celebration of 60th Annual Athletic Meet 2023-24 at SS Balachadi
The 60th Inter House Annual Athletic Meet at Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar was conducted from 16 to 18 Oct 2023. The important annual event concluded with traditional pomp and fervor covering all disciplines of track and field events at the School Athletic ground.
Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi graced the Closing Ceremony. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes and medals to the winning Cadets and presented the Championship Trophy to Pratap House in senior Category and Nehru House in junior category. Cadet Abhishek Kumar of Pratap House and Cadet Ashish of Nehru House bagged the Best Athlete Trophy in the ‘Senior’ and ‘Junior’ category respectively.
The Ramarao Memorial Trophy for the Best Player in Volleyball was given
to Cadet Adarsh Kumar of Tagore House and for Basketball it was given to Cadet Deepanshu
of Garuda House on this occasion. Cadet Rahul Rathore and Cadet Divyesh of
Shivaji House bagged the Best Football Player award in the Senior and Junior
category respectively while Cadet Jayant of Pratap House awarded the Best
Hockey Player. A special prize was given to Cadet Abhishek Kumar of Shivaji
House for breaking the previous School record in Javelin Throw. The new School
record is 31.20 m while earlier it was 21.98 m by Cadet Anoop Pal of Pratap House.
The Chief Guest, Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi congratulated the winners, participants and organizers and appreciated Cadets for exhibiting true sportsmanship and competitive spirit during the Annual Athletic Meet. While addressing the gathering, the Principal said “What we don’t learn in the classroom or in any other place that we learn in court or playground and that is to never give up”. He advised Cadets to keep practicing at least one game. He also felicitated PTI CHM Sandeep Pandey, PTI Hav Manuj and ground men Mr Akram and Mr Ali.
The event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the School
Sports Captain Cadet Divyaraj.
