MARTYRS DAY OBSERVED IN SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI

Martyrs Day was observed in Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar on 30 Jan 2018, where Officers, Staff and Cadets paid homage to the great sacrificed souls of the nation. On the 70th Death Anniversary of the father of nation - Mahatma Gandhi, the school observed two minutes silence at 1100 hrs.

The school has given to the nation great Martyr Major Rushikesh V Ramani, Sena Medal and Martyr Capt Nilesh H Soni, Siachen Glacier Medal. The brave Officer Major Rushikesh V Ramani attained Martyrdom on 07 June 2009 while carrying out a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir, Major Rushikesh V Ramani fought bravely and gunned down three militants. While the brave Officer Capt Nilesh H. Soni attained Martyrdom in Operation Meghdoot at Sia-Chin Glacier in Jammu and Kashmir on 12 Feb 1987.

Major Rushikesh V Ramani joined Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar in 1994. He joined prestigious National Defence Academy in July 2001. Capt Nilesh H Soni joined Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar on 27 June 1972. He joined prestigious National Defence Academy on 14 July 1980.

On this occasion, the proud family members of Great Martyrs visited the school. The event commenced with laying the Wreath on the Shourya Stambh - the War Memorial of martyrs by the family members.

A Special Assembly was organised in the school to pay respect to the Great Martyrs. Cadet Megh and Cadet Devang highlighted the life and achievement of Martyr Capt Nilesh H Soni and Martyr Major Rushikesh V Ramani in the Special Assembly. 

The proud family members of great Martyrs donated the photo frames to the school.To give due respect to the proud parents school memento was presented to them by the Principal Gp Capt Ravinder Singh.

The principal in his address conveyed hearty thanks to the proud parents for presenting the Photo Frame to the school. He also urged the cadets to follow the path of the Great Martyr’s and motivated the cadets to join the Armed Forces to make their life worth living.
