CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS OF REGAINING OF POLISH INDEPENDENCE AT SS BALACHADI
Centenary Celebrations of regaining of Polish Independence was celebrated in Jamnagar on 30 Sept 2018. The first half of the day the events were organized in the Auditorium of Gujarat Ayurveda University and in the second half of the day events were conducted at Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar.
Mr Adam Burakowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of India, Brig Nitish Bisht, Cdr 31 Inf Briagde, Jamnagar, Cmde C Raghuram, VSM, Commanding Officer INS Valsura, Jamnagar, Polish delegates including six World War II survivors, who were among the 1,000 Polish children given shelter by Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji, the king of erstwhile Navanagar (now Jamnagar), VIP dignitaries, former Indian Cricketer Ajay Jadeja, Indreshji and other extended family members of Jamsaheb were present on this occasion.
The guests were given a traditional welcome with Tilak and Garlanding. On this occasion the Indian National Flag was unfurled by Brig Nitish Bisht, Cdr 31 Inf Briagde, Jamnagar and Polish Ambassador H.E. Mr Adam Burakowski unfurled the National Flag of Poland followed by National Anthem of both the countries.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Wieslaw Stypula one of the Polish survivor, shared his experiences of childhood days which he spent in Balachadi.
Officers, staff, cadets and OBSSA members were also present on this occasion. The event was conducted very successfully. It is a landmark event for Sainik School as well as for Gujarat state.
