Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrates Diamond Jubilee
Sainik School Balachadi,
Jamnagar celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on 08 July 2021. Shri Bhupendrasinh
Chudasama, Minister of Education, Gujarat State was the Chief Guest on this
occasion while Smt Poonamben Maadam, Member of Parliament (Loksabha), Brig
Siddharth Chandra, Cdr, 31 Inf Bde, Dr Sourabh Pardhi, IAS, Collector
Jamnagar, Col Haresh Limbachiya, Vice
President OBSSA and Dr Bharatsinh Gadhvi were the Guest of Honours.
On his arrival in school the chief
guest laid wreath on Shourya Stambh, the war memorial of martyrs. On this occasion, the newly
constructed boys hostel ‘Sardar Patel House’ was inaugurated by the chief guest
whereas the renovated girls hostel ‘Ahilyabai House’ was inaugurated by Smt
Poonamben Maadam, Member of Parliament (Loksabha). The Chief Guest along with
other dignitaries visited both the Houses.
Later the cultural presentation on
opening ceremony for Diamond Jubilee celebration was conducted in school
auditorium which started with the welcome address delivered by Gp Capt Ravinder
Singh, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi. In his welcome address, the
Principal highlighted the 60 years glorious journey of the school. He paid tribute
to founding fathers, previous administrators and the staff by remembering their
contribution towards the development of the school. He also conveyed his gratitude to the State
for signing of Memorandum of Agreement with Ministry of Defence. This will help
in overall development of the school in bringing it up to the world
standards. He conveyed his heartfelt
thanks to the ‘Old Boys of Sainik School Association’ (OBSSA) members who have
donated laundry machines for the school laundry and stated them as the
ambassadors of the school.
In cultural program, cadet Krisha
Vadher presented a mesmerizing dance on Saraswati Vandana which was followed by
the melodious inspirational song sung by teachers and cadets of the school. On
this occasion paintings of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Field Marshal KM
Cariappa and Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh were unveiled.
Addressing the
gathering, Smt Poonamben Maadam, MP Jamnagar,
said that as women representative and member of women's empowerment
committee, she is happy that Sainik School Balachadi is inducting the girl cadets on line of Beti Bachao Beti
Padhao also the Sainik school is representation of sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. Chief guest in his speech congratulated the
Officers, staff and Cadets for celebrating the Diamond Jubilee and also for
admitting the first batch of Girls in class 6th from this Diamond
Jubilee year. He told that his wish is to see Gujarati Beti’s wearing olive
uniform and contributing towards the Defence Services of the Nation. He insisted the online connected cadets of
the school to think big and aim high and never ever get disappointed by
failures. He wished all the best to the students in the days to come.
At last, the vote of thanks was
presented by Lt Cdr Manu Arora, Vice Principal, Sainik School Balachadi and the
function culminated with the presentation of school song.
